General Rules for Submission

  • ISA membership (Life/Associate) and Conference registration are strictly mandatory.
  • Maximum of 3 authors per paper and 2 authors per poster. The first author must be the presenter and is the sole recipient of any awards won.
  • The abstract must be highly original. Previously presented or published papers/posters will be rejected.
  • A single delegate is permitted to submit up to 2 abstracts, provided they are of different kinds (e.g., 1 paper and 1 poster).
  • A Bonafide certificate from the Head of the Department must accompany all submissions.
  • All correspondence regarding the abstract will be communicated exclusively to the presenting author.

Presentation Timings

Strict adherence to time limits is expected during podium presentations.

Formatting & Specific Guidelines

Paper Formatting Rules
  • Only original research papers will be considered. Case reports are not permitted, but a series of cases is acceptable.
  • The abstract must be strictly limited to a maximum of 300 words (excluding authors, references, and table/figures).
  • Required Structure: 1) Title, 2) Background & Objectives, 3) Material & Methods, 4) Results, 5) Conclusion, 6) One table/figure, 7) Two references in Vancouver style.
  • Font Settings (Times New Roman): Title (Size 14), Body (Size 12), Author Names (Size 10), References (Vancouver style, Size 10).
E-Poster Formatting Rules
  • All accepted posters will be displayed as E-posters only (Physical posters are not allowed).
  • Original research, case studies, and case series are all accepted formats.
  • Must be limited to one Word page or one PowerPoint slide, designed in Portrait layout.
  • Top Header: "Title of the poster" (Times New Roman, Size 14) followed by Authors' names (Size 10).
  • Logos: Institute logo on the right-hand corner, ISA logo on the left-hand corner.
  • Body: Text, data, and photos must be legible in a single window using Times New Roman (Size 10). Single Vancouver style reference permitted.
  • Limits: Award posters are capped at 24 entries (12 for Core Anaesthesiology, 12 for Pain/Palliative/Critical Care).
Consultant Submission Rules
  • Practitioners and consultants may submit abstracts strictly for Paper Presentation (Original research only).
  • Submission requires an uploaded Ethics Committee Approval Certificate (Institute proper or Affiliated medical college).
  • Follow the standard 300-word limit and structured format (Title, Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion, 1 Table/Figure, 2 References).
  • Scrutiny will select the top 6 papers for podium presentation.
  • Each podium presentation will last 15 minutes (10 minutes presentation + 5 minutes questioning).
